Free Brochure Series for Fathers in Child Protection Cases

Studies have shown that increased father engagement in children’s lives results in better outcomes for children and families. This series of six short guides, developed by the ABA for the Quality Improvement Center on Nonresident Fathers and the Child Welfare System, provide important tips for non-custodial fathers involved in child protection cases, focusing on issues such as the father’s legal rights, child support and courtroom etiquette. They include information written specifically for fathers on how they can be active participants in their children’s case and successfully navigate the protection system.

To download free copies of these brochures, go to: www.fatherhoodqic.org.  Free print copies are available through the Child Welfare Information Gateway: Visit http://www.childwelfare.gov/catalog/index.cfm?event=catalog.viewIndex&letter=F

CFR is a ground-breaking, non-profit law and policy organization whose mission is to guarantee that every family that can live safely together has the chance to do so.  We assist families when the combination of poverty and a crisis-one borne of anything from addiction to inadequate day care-may lead to separation and a child being placed in foster care.  We provide free legal services to parents in crisis, train practitioners in the child welfare and court systems on best practices to support families and provide leadership at the city, state and national level on how best to strengthen families
